Nordstjerne’s Statement of Condemnation Signed by Prime Minister Sigrid Bergman, Ratified by the Jernean Parliament, We, the Colony of Nordstjerne, do hereby condemn the Incorporated States of Promothea for their abolishment of all maritime protection laws. We uphold the fundamental right of an independent, autonomous nation-state to govern itself as it sees fit, including regulating its trade, hunting, and environment. However, international waters are legally governed collectively, as is tradition and practice. While Promothea may not recognize this territory as an international space, it should not be surprising to them that the violation of this practice will result in backlash from the international community. The preservation of maritime organisms, especially those listed as endangered or threatened, should be the paramount concern of the international community. It is therefore concerning that Promothea does not recognize the unalienable rights of living beings, as Nordstjerne and the Jacarian Realm do. Furthermore, it is the view of the Colony that the deregulation of maritime practices (such as commercial fishing, clamming, and hunting) unnecessarily endangers the lives of rare organisms and threatened species, whose numbers have already been dwindling rapidly from human involvement. Many of these organisms are critical to the stability of their ecosystems, and disturbances to their environments could prove dangerous to global stability. Henceforth, this government, representing its people and its allies, pledges to designate sections of our portions of the Baltic Sea, the Gulf of Bothnia, the Danish Straits, and the North Sea as Maritime Protection Zones posthaste in an attempt to preserve these critical environments. In addition, the Colony hereby places an embargo on Promothean maritime goods and raises a 25% tariff on all imported Promothean goods. @Promothea

Preface

We of the Northern Domain of Nordstjerne would like to officially extend our hand in friendship towards your new republic and establish a mutual relationship that would benefit both of our nation’s tremendously.

Proposal

Recognizing that your government has recently refounded your republic from the tribal lands of Korea,

Acknowledging that the Federal Court has withheld previous aid due to incidents caused by major financiers of your government,

Does hereby overturn the Courts ruling and allow for humanitarian and financial aid to flow between our nations.

Furthermore, the Northern Domain would be willing to fund infrastructure development within Rilicon to restore the ancient lands of Korea to their former glory.

Of course, such a relationship would not be one-way. Nordstjerne would open its ports and airways to the Republic, and would promote commerce that would economically benefit both of us, especially given current reluctance from global traders in financing a fledgling republic such as yourself.

It is the duty of this government and our nation to promote freedom, prosperity, and to bring forth a new generation of duplomacy based on the writings and practices of Dr. Marton Williamsburg. Therefore, we view this bilateral economic relationship as a necessary one, and Rilicon’s credibility shall only do it good at the discussion table.
