Firstly, that is not true. I have flagged and struck down several posts in the past for being unrealistic, poorly detailed, or otherwise impossible to reasonably carry out.

I am happy to allow exaggerated numbers when they are clearly presented as propaganda. From a roleplaying perspective, I have no issue with players having their leaders inflate or “boost” their capabilities to appeal to their domestic audience. However, when you suddenly pull 9 million troops out of nowhere and claim you are about to deploy destroyers that can seemingly do everything, especially while basing it all on a currency that nobody else in the world uses, I am inclined to step in.

That said, I won’t pretend I catch everything. Some players post frequently, and I simply cannot catch every instance of OP or god-modding.

So, please feel free to flag any posts you believe constitute god-modding or are excessively overpowered. I’ll be more than happy to review them and, where appropriate, strike them down.

The nine-million-troop buildup, and the infrastructure required to support it, has been posted about since early April. That figure appears across multiple posts; it was not something I simply pulled out of thin air yesterday.

The same applies to our logistics infrastructure. Guangzhou has three megaports and a national high-speed rail network, infrastructure development that probably accounts for 80% of what I post about. There have also been countless posts developing our military forces. The Vigilants are not AI. They are deliberately inexpensive to manufacture and, individually, are hardly an overwhelming threat. Their strength has always come from their numbers.

Project Terminus is not new either. We have posted repeatedly about its construction and even awarded Javnia a €$35 billion contract, which was actually transferred and can be verified if necessary. When the RP underwent the year multi-year jump, you accelerated the construction timeline yourself.

We launched CVN-01 early specifically as part of the deterrence tit-for-tat developing between Guangzhou and Thessara. The ship isn’t fully operational. We don’t have the aircraft complement to operate from it, and none of its onboard weapons are currently operational, because I had not progressed that far in the RP. What was posted was the unveiling of an unfinished strategic platform—not the sudden appearance of a fully operational superweapon.

I am also one of the more active posters in this community. These programs have been developed through months of posts concerning infrastructure, industry, military development, logistics, and construction. None of this appeared overnight or came out of thin air. So excuse me for being genuinely confused by what feels like a retaliatory posture being taken toward Guangzhou now.

The economic argument is similarly confusing. It takes roughly 8 DGC to equal one Eurodollar, and multiple posts concerning Guangzhou’s economy explicitly establish that we accept Eurodollars at our ports and use them for international trade and external transactions. Guangzhou simply operates its domestic economy differently and converts incoming foreign currency rather than circulating the Eurodollar internally.

Everything being pointed to in this ruling has been built up over the course of the last several months. That is why I find the timing particularly interesting: these developments apparently became unacceptable only after Guangzhou began adopting a considerably more aggressive posture toward Thessara.

After all, if Guangzhou is apparently the Commonwealth’s “North Korea,” I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised when our development suddenly receives this level of scrutiny.

Look, I think this is exactly the conversation we should have had before the ruling, so let me actually address what you’re saying properly.

I don’t doubt that Guangzhou has been developing these things for months. I’m not claiming you woke up yesterday and decided you wanted nine million reservists and twelve supercarriers. I know you’ve put a lot of RP into Terminus, the ports, the rail network, the military and the wider industrial base.

But here’s where I think we’re talking past each other.

The fact that something has been established over several months doesn’t automatically make the final scale reasonable. At some point I have to look at what all of those posts amount to when they’re put together.

And honestly, some of the numbers are fucking enormous.

The nine million reserves is the biggest example. Nine million people isn’t just a military number. That’s a demographic claim. Those people need to exist within Guangzhou’s population, and they need training, equipment, officers, storage, transport, medical support, communications and a system capable of actually mobilizing them. I’m not saying Guangzhou can’t have a large reserve. I’m saying nine million is an absolutely enormous figure for the setting we’re playing in.

Then there’s CVN-01. A 666 metre, 400,000+ tonne carrier, potentially carrying 180–200 aircraft and one million Vigilants, with four advanced reactors, railguns, extensive missile systems and strategic ballistic missiles. You have since clarified that the ship isn’t operational and doesn’t have the aircraft or weapons yet. That’s important, and I would absolutely distinguish between an unfinished prototype and the fully operational monster described in the original post.

But then the same post says it’s the first of more than a dozen.

That’s where I start having a problem.

One experimental supercarrier is one thing. Building a fleet of twelve-plus 400,000 tonne supercarriers is an entirely different industrial proposition.

Then we’re also looking at the EAST3 numbers. DGC 1.8 trillion, 18,000 personnel, 40+ fabrication lines, 6.5 million tonnes of materials and potentially 24 million tonnes of annual freight capacity. Again, individually, maybe you can justify pieces of that. But when I put that next to nine million reserves, the carrier program, the military expansion, the ports, the rail network and everything else Guangzhou has established, the cumulative picture becomes difficult to justify within our setting.

And the economic argument is where I think we particularly disagree.

I accept that Guangzhou accepts Eurodollars at its ports. I accept that you can convert foreign currency into DGC. That’s not really the part I’m questioning.

What I’m questioning is where the underlying economic output comes from to sustain all of this.

Currency conversion doesn’t create GDP. If Guangzhou has limited international trade, then I need to understand how it’s generating enough actual economic activity to simultaneously fund this military, this industrial base, these infrastructure projects, this shipbuilding program and a trillion-plus space commitment.

That’s not me saying you aren’t allowed to be wealthy. It’s me asking you to actually account for the scale you’re claiming.

And on the “Denmark” comment, I probably shouldn’t have phrased it that way. That was deliberately blunt, but I understand why you took it as me imposing some arbitrary ceiling. I’m not saying Guangzhou can never surpass Denmark. Obviously nations are allowed to develop.

The point was that, based on what has actually been established in the RP, Guangzhou’s claimed strategic capability has grown far beyond what its demonstrated economic and demographic foundation currently supports.

As for the timing, I genuinely understand why you’re suspicious of it. You started taking a much more aggressive posture toward Thessara and then suddenly I’m scrutinizing Guangzhou’s military development. I can see how that looks.

But no, this isn’t because you’re opposing Thessara.

If anything, the mistake on my part was allowing some of this to accumulate for months without stopping and saying, “Hold on, let’s actually look at the numbers here.”

So I don’t want to erase your development. I don’t want to tell you that Terminus never existed, that the ports never existed, that the rail network never existed, or that Guangzhou suddenly has to become a backwards state.

What I want is for us to sit down and establish what Guangzhou actually has right now, what is under construction, what is planned, and what its population and economy can realistically sustain.

Because I genuinely think there’s a version of Guangzhou that is a terrifyingly powerful regional state without needing nine million reservists and twelve 400,000-ton supercarriers.

And frankly, that would probably make the RP more interesting for everyone, including you.

how about I write you up a draft and full explanation of current plans, where everything is coming from etc? That way we’re all on the same page. Some of the post are meant to exagerate. Such as oblivion. Project Terminus is not synonymous with Project Oblivion, nor is Terminus intended to produce an enormous fleet overnight.

Terminus is a 10–20 year national maritime-development project intended to create Guangzhou’s principal shipbuilding and maritime-industrial hub. Once fully developed, it will support military shipbuilding and maintenance, commercial construction, foreign and allied port calls, commercial shipping, and resort/cruise vessels. It is also intended to become Guangzhou’s primary naval research-and-development zone. The drydocks, fabrication facilities, maintenance infrastructure, and supporting industrial capacity being constructed there are therefore intended to support decades of future maritime development—not simply the three carriers currently associated with Oblivion.

Project Oblivion exists within Terminus and represents the long-term replacement of Guangzhou’s current naval force, which presently consists primarily of smaller, older, and increasingly outdated vessels.

The intended end-state is actually relatively concentrated: three principal fleets—the Southwest Fleet, Southeast Fleet, and Eastern Fleet. Each is ultimately intended to center around one Guangzhou-class carrier supported by approximately three major escort/support vessels, producing three comparatively small carrier groups rather than a massive fleet of supercarriers.

Construction of the three enormous enclosed carrier halls at Terminus was deliberately prioritized during the project’s earliest stages. Their purpose was not to suggest that Guangzhou already possessed the industrial capacity to mass-produce carriers. They were built first because Guangzhou wanted the vessels themselves constructed indoors and outside foreign observation, preserving secrecy surrounding their design and construction progress.

CVN-01 永昌 was never supposed to enter service this early.

The developing confrontation with Thessara changed that calculation. Guangzhou made the deliberate decision to push CVN-01 out of its construction hall substantially ahead of schedule as a deterrence measure—essentially revealing something we had intended to keep concealed because Guangzhou wanted Thessara and the wider region to see that Oblivion was real.

That decision should not be interpreted as CVN-01 suddenly becoming a fully operational warship. It isn’t.

The vessel currently lacks its intended operational air wing. Its major weapons systems have not yet been brought into operational service. Significant systems integration, testing, outfitting, training, and development remain outstanding. The specifications posted for the completed Guangzhou class describe the intended design and eventual capability of the program, not necessarily the capabilities CVN-01 possesses today.

In other words, what Guangzhou accelerated was the public launch and unveiling of the hull—not the entire development timeline of the carrier program.

CVN-01 was pushed out early because Guangzhou needed something visible for deterrence. That came with a substantial tradeoff: we exposed a project we had spent considerable resources concealing while revealing a vessel that is still incomplete.

CVN-02 and CVN-03 should likewise be understood as long-term construction projects, not three additional operational supercarriers appearing immediately afterward. Oblivion’s ultimate objective is three carriers supporting three regional fleets over the broader development of Terminus.

According to an official statement released by the Imperial Office, Soul’s removal follows a loss of confidence in his recent leadership and judgment, particularly regarding national-security measures undertaken without the full support of the Corporate Alliance and his handling of the nationwide ballistic-missile false alarms.

The false alarms have emerged as a central factor in the decision. What initially appeared to be a potentially catastrophic ballistic attack triggered emergency responses across the Divine State and contributed to an already escalating national-security posture. Imperial officials argue that Soul allowed an uncertain and rapidly changing threat picture to drive measures with enormous domestic and international consequences before sufficient political consensus had been established. Combined with the closure of Guangzhou’s airspace, continuing mobilization and the exposure of Project Oblivion, the episode ultimately became the breaking point for confidence in his leadership.

Senior government officials have stressed that several decisions attributed internationally to Guangzhou as a whole were advanced under Soul’s authority without full Alliance consensus.

The Imperial Office has therefore determined that continued confidence in his leadership is no longer tenable.

“The security of the Divine State cannot come at the expense of disciplined governance. Authority entrusted by the Emperor carries with it an obligation to exercise judgment, restraint and collective responsibility.”

Darius Vhal, longtime Chairman and Chief Executive of Vowbound Industries and Minister of Sovereign Defense, has been appointed the new Chairman of the Corporate Alliance, effective immediately.

Vhal has spent years at the center of Guangzhou’s defense establishment, overseeing Vowbound Industries and the National Security Directorate during the Divine State’s largest period of military restructuring.

His elevation places one of Guangzhou’s most powerful corporate and national-security figures directly at the head of the Alliance at a moment when the government is attempting to restore both domestic coordination and international confidence.

Officials familiar with the transition say Vhal’s immediate mandate will be to reestablish unified Corporate Alliance oversight of the national response, review measures authorized under Soul, and coordinate Guangzhou’s diplomatic posture ahead of the Ascension Tour.

The government has emphasized that the leadership change does not represent an abandonment of Guangzhou’s security concerns or ongoing defensive preparations.

Rather, it represents an attempt to restore a clear chain of political accountability over them.

CARMILLA SINCLAIR TO LEAD VOWBOUND AND NSD

Vhal will relinquish his positions within Vowbound Industries and the National Security Directorate as part of his elevation.

He will be succeeded by Carmilla Sinclair, who has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Vowbound Industries and Minister of Sovereign Defense.

The appointment immediately places Sinclair in command of Guangzhou’s principal defense corporation and at the head of the National Security Directorate. She will inherit responsibility for the ongoing military mobilization, national defense posture, and the enormous security apparatus surrounding Project Oblivion.

The revelation that Guangzhou’s nationwide ballistic-missile warnings were ultimately false has added another dimension to that criticism, raising questions about how an erroneous warning escalated into a national crisis and contributed to decisions that alarmed governments across the region.

The Imperial government’s announcement now draws a deliberate distinction between Guangzhou’s national policy and decisions made under Soul’s leadership.

Officials maintain that Soul exceeded the political consensus of the Corporate Alliance as the crisis escalated.

His dismissal therefore represents the clearest acknowledgment yet from New Guangzhou Prime that the government’s recent response went further than portions of its own leadership were prepared to support.

Whether the move will satisfy Guangzhou’s critics remains uncertain.

The timing gives Vhal little opportunity for transition.
