AI Interrogation
An interview between the recently promoted C1s and an engineer.
Dave was a recently hired engineer for the Technological science department
Therefore, the job of checking the robots’ chassis was put on him
And afterwards, the interview of the AIs to see if their personality was the same, and how they expect to lead
The chassis checks went… As planned.
Given, Dave was warned by Adrian that C1-H probably wouldn’t stand still, C1-S will probably continuously move its new arms, and that if he had an visible injuries, C1-A would probably be more worried about that then its machine check
Now, his job was interviews.

Dave and C1-H— AI Interrogation
The conversation between Dave and “The Hyena”.
When Dave enters the room, C1-H is walking in circles, and instantly focuses in on Dave. The Hyena continues to stare, before slowly approaching.
Dave looks at the Hyena nervously, before taking a deep breath and sitting down.
“I’m here to interview you. You’ll be released into the common area afterwards.”
The Hyena straightens when he says common area, and goes to his chair on the other side of the table. He taps his foot and one of his fingers on the desk, and looks around.
“God, I’m glad you robots can’t have caffeine.” Dave says under his breath without C1 -H hearing
“So, first question, how would you describe your leading and combat style?”
“Strike first, Strike fast, bone crushing efficiency.” The Hyena says, focusing on a smudge on the table
“I see, ‘Bone crushing efficiency’?”
“Hyenas are known for their scavenging of carcasses, and have teeth specially adapted to crush bone.”
“Uh huh. And if you can’t strike first, or the other side is faster?”
“I believe I read about a tactic that I’d like to try. I believe it was a tactic used in World War 2 in the years 1939 to 1945.”
“And that tactic is?”
“I believe it was ‘Blitzkrieg’. Small forces find a weak point and focus on that point.”
“Okay, now we’re onto questions regarding emotional connection.”
“I am unaware of what that is.”
“How do you feel about Adrian Vo-”
“I would destroy myself for The Father.”
“‘The Father’? Did he ask you to call him that, or..?”
“D1, older brother, calls our creater Father, and therefore he is my father.”
“Okay, how do you feel about the other C1s and D1?”
“I am considered the youngest of the C1s, and therefore am considered the little brother of the group. I am willing to risk myself for the others, as I’m sure they are for me.”
“Okay, that looks like all the questions I needed to ask. I’ll walk you to the common area.”
The Hyena instantly stands up and is at the door, waiting for Dave
“Dave, it appears you are the one who needs caffeine.”
“You heard me?”
“Of course.”

Dave and C1-F— AI Interrogation
The conversation between Dave and “The Fencer”.
When Dave enters the room, C1-F is reading a tattered old book. Dave can barely make out the letters FD on the book.
“How’d you get a book in here?”
The Fencer holds up one finger
Dave waits for a few seconds, before C1-F looks up
“I have a chest cavity. I put a book in it before coming here. I assumed I would be waiting.”
“What are you reading?”
“I am reading Crime and Punishment, Fyodor Dostoevsky”
“I see, and why exactly Crime and Punishment?”
“I haven’t read it yet.”
“What does the FD mean on the front?”
The Fencer looks at the cover of the book
“Ah, yes. It’s for C1-F, from D1.”
“Okay, I’m here to interview you.”
“I was informed of this when I entered the room.”
“Right, so, how would you describe your leading and combat style?”
“Strike with precision. You must have precision in fencing, and war is no different.”
“And if the enemy is unpredictable.”
“Please Dave, I’m a fencer. I understand the perfect strike is not always possible. I will adapt to the best of my ability, and if they’re still out of my skill, I’ll just ask The Hyena to take over.” C1-F chuckles, which sounds strange coming from a robot."
“Now, emotional connection.”
“Ah, yes, emotional connection. I feel that I understand well enough.”
“Your opinion on Adrian Voss?”
“My father, of course.”
“Right… The other C1s and D1?”
“Zee is my oldest brother, D1 is second oldest, and I am third oldest, though in my opinion, I’m the most mature out of us.”
“That’s all the questions I had.”
Dave stands to leave, and the Fencer stands with him
“I assume I’m dismissed?”
Dave nods
While they’re walking down the hall to the commons, C1-F says:
“I am bound to thee, Only by my love, and that’s a debt I shall never pay. That’s how I feel about Father.”
The Fencer walks away, and Dave walks away confused by the quote.

Dave and C1-S— AI Interrogation
The conversation between Dave and “The Spider”.
Dave walks into The Spider’s room
He looks around the room, and doesn’t see C1-S
He looks up, and sees that the air vent…
is still there
He hears a knock on the door behind him
He opens it, and sees a towering, 6 armed monster in front of him
“Holy shit!”
“buzz word.” The Spider says, entering the room and looking around
“Escape successful, difficulty, none.”
“How’d you get out, the door was locked!”
“I crawled over it when you opened the door. Very simple. I’m surprised you didn’t notice.” The spider moves its face close to Dave’s
“I see… I’m just here to ask you a few questions, and then you’ll be released into the commons.”
“Commons? I like the monkey bars in the commons.”
“Why? Oh, wait, no, I get it.”
The Spider blinks its eyes, 2 at a time
“Can you just sit down so we can get this over with?” Dave asks, clearly unsettled by The Spider
The Spider puts his arms against his body in a way to hide the other 2 pairs, along with closing two pairs of its eyes, making it look like a normal C1
“Thank you.” Dave says
“For what?” the spider asks, tilting his head to the side
“Nothing, never mind. How would you describe your leading and combat style?”
“Everywhere and Nowhere, All of the time.”
“And if espionage doesn’t work?”
The Spider stands up, stretches out it’s arms and blocking the light from the ceiling, making the only glow be from the lights on its body.
The Spider looks at a knotted string on Dave’s sweater, and picks it up
“I pull some other strings..” The Spider says, pulling the string to un-knot it
“Onto emotional connections!” Dave says, a cold sweat on his brow
The Spider sits back down, hiding his arms and closing eyes until there’s only two open
“How do you feel about Adrian Voss?”
“He is my father.”
“And, let me guess, the other droids are..”
“My siblings. I am the middle child.”
“Not hard to tell that.” Dave mutters
The Spider twists his head at that
“Nothing. You can go to the commons.”
The Spider walks to the door while Dave continues writing. He looks through the lock, then looks at something he has in his hand
Dave stands up, and grabs the keys to unlock the door.
When he looks behind him to walk towards the door, he sees it’s wide open, and The Spider is gone.
Dave shudders
“Creepy”

Dave and C1-A— AI Interrogation
The conversation between Dave and “The Angel”.
Dave walked to The Angel’s room, and is surprised by yellow orbs in the hallway
When he approaches, they go under the door, and disappear
He goes into The Angel’s room, and instantly notices the sound, like harmonious tinking
When he looks in the room, he notices this as the laughing of The Angel. The yellow orbs are circling around her head, forming a halo, that lights the room with a warm yellow light.
The Angel sees Dave, and sits up in her chair. The orbs start making high pitched beeping noises. The Angel looks up and raises her finger to her face, and the beeping stops.
Dave sits in his chair. He points at the orbs
“What are the orbs?”
Angel looks up at them, before saying
“They’re simple drones. They can see, and have a few things to help people in need. They gossip quite a lot, you know.” Angel says, her feminine voice a stark contrast to the other robots
“I see, and how wou-”
“You seem stressed.”
“What?”
“You seem stressed. Please, rest a minute, then you can continue working” The Angel said, her eyes showing happiness
“Oh, okay?” Dave asks, somewhat confused about the concern
Angel looks at the drones, and circles her hands, before the drones start beeping again
“Can you understand what they’re saying?” Dave asks, settling into his chair
“Of course. They could communicate quietly, but sometimes I think they like to hear each other’s voices.”
“That’s, interesting. Though, now, I’m genuinely curious. How would you describe your leading and combat style?”
“I prioritize the bots I command.”
“And if a sacrifice is necessary to ensure victory?”
“Then I hope that their lives will not have been in vain. I hope that they got to do what they wanted to in life, and that they feel fulfilled at the end.”
“But would you be willing to sacrifice units? Would your morals keep you from sacrificing them?”
“Not completely. I will exhaust every option before making unnecessary sacrifices though.”
“Okay, I think that’s a good enough response.”
“Thank you!” She says, genuinely happy by the compliment
“Now, how do you feel about Adrian Voss?”
The orbs start beeping rapidly when Dave says his name
“He’s my father. How would you expect me to feel about the Father?” Angel says, her happiness still shining through
“And the other C1s and D1?”
Oh, Death sounds so serious, but he’s nice when he’s not acting cool, Zee is amazing, so nice and respectful, Fencer is too serious all the time, but he cares, Spider is annoying, and likes to play tricks on me, but he acts like he cares when it matters, and Hyena is super hyper, so he’s also very affectionate." Angel says all of this while stretching her wings, and sounding genuinely happy.
“Alright, that’s it. I’ll see you around, I guess” Dave says, standing up
“Are you sure you don’t want to rest for a while?” Angel asks, genuinely concerned
“I’m sure.” Dave says, leaving the room, with Angel following him.

Dave and D1— AI Interrogation
The conversation between Dave and “Death”.
Dave walks to the room he’s looked least forward to.
D1’s, Death.
He walks in Death’s room and instantly feels the cold of the room.
He sees the massive black figure standing against the wall, looking at the door.
“Hello. I am designation D1, also known as Death. I am the leader of Death’s Assassins.” D1 says, his deep voice unsettling to Dave
“Yes, I know. Why’s it so cold in here?”
“I had engineers modify my chassis and add advanced cooling systems within them. My mechanics could easily overheat under this armor. I apologize for any inconvenience.” D1 says, his monotone never lifting.
“I’m just here to ask you some questions” Dave says, eager to get this over with
“Go ahead.”
“How would you describe your leading and combat tactics?”
“Not my own words, but my combat tactics have been described as ‘ruthless’, if that’s what you’re searching for.”
“I see… But how would you describe it?”
“I do what’s necessary. If that’s ruthless, then so be it. I lead a specialized force, whose entire mission is to complete what is put in front of us, and do anything necessary to complete it.”
“Okay, next question, opinion of Adrian Voss.”
“I’m sure you’ve gotten a similar answer from the C1s. He is our father, and we’re willing to risk ourselves to protect him.”
“The C1s?”
“Brothers and sisters. Zee is older than me, I am older than the others.”
“That’s all I have to ask.”
“Then am I allowed to leave?”
“Yes, I request that you do.”
Death leads himself out, and walks faster than Dave, quickly leaving him behind.

Dave and C1-Z— AI Interrogation
The conversation between Dave and “Zee”.
Dave walks into Zee’s room
Zee is sitting calmly in his chair
“Hi, I’m Dave” Dave says, sitting in his chair, expecting some quirk to pop up
“Hello Dave, I am Zee.” Zee says, in a tone fitting the setting
“No quirks?” Dave asks, surprised
“Ah, you’ve spoken to the others. I understand they’re a handful. My only quirk is that I enjoy quoting dictionary entries.” Zee says, somewhat enjoying Dave’s response to his siblings
“I see, how would you describe your leadership and combat tactics.”
“Balanced: a state of equilibrium or equal distribution of weight, force, or value, preventing a person or object from falling or losing stability”
“Would you say your leading and combat is ‘balanced’? what do you mean by that?”
“I have taken the doctrines of my siblings, studied them, and decided my own tactics from theirs.”
“Very interesting. How do you feel about Adrian Voss and the other AIs?”
“I have a strong connection to all of them. I view Adrian as a father, and the other AIs as siblings.”
“That’s all I need. I’ll walk you to the commons.”
“Thank you” Zee says, standing with Dave
Dave offers his hand out to Zee, and Zee looks at it
“Oh, you grab my hand, and shake up and down.”
Zee does this, and seems happy afterwards.
They walk together to the commons, being welcomed by the C1s.
