Today, we’re launching CIVITAS, a new digital assistant built directly into the United Commonwealth Social Network.
CIVITAS is designed around one simple idea: UCSN has grown, and finding the information you need shouldn’t become harder as it continues to grow.
Over time, the forum has accumulated discussions, government documents, community guides, applications, roleplay, legislation, announcements, and years of information spread across different sections of the network. CIVITAS provides a new way to navigate all of it.
Rather than replacing the forum, CIVITAS is designed to help you use it.
What can CIVITAS do?
At launch, CIVITAS can interact directly with discussions on UCSN.
You can ask it to summarize an entire discussion, catch up on the latest post, or ask questions about the conversation you’re currently reading. CIVITAS can analyze the posts in that discussion and provide an answer while linking back to the relevant forum sources.
You can also Ask CIVITAS general questions about UCSN and receive guidance based on official community resources available to it.
For example:
“How do I establish an embassy?”
“How do I apply for citizenship?”
“What happened in this discussion?”
“Summarize the latest story post.”
“What are the forum rules?”
And this is only the beginning.

CIVITAS isn’t intended to be a generic chatbot placed on top of the forum.
It is being developed specifically around UCSN, its community, and the way the forum is actually used.
Future development will expand its ability to help users discover discussions, locate sections of the forum, navigate Commonwealth services, find relevant information across UCSN, and connect users with the resources they’re looking for.
You may already notice some of these upcoming functions displayed within CIVITAS. They will become available progressively as the system develops.
Where do I find it?
Look for the CIVITAS button in the bottom-right corner of UCSN.
What CIVITAS offers will change depending on where you are.
Open it inside a discussion and you’ll receive tools related to that discussion. Open it elsewhere on UCSN and CIVITAS will instead offer more general assistance.
This is Version 1.0
CIVITAS is launching as an evolving UCSN service.
There will inevitably be things it gets wrong, features that need improvement, and situations we haven’t accounted for yet. Your feedback will directly influence how CIVITAS develops.
If an answer seems incorrect, a summary misses something important, something doesn’t work, or there’s a feature you think CIVITAS should have, let us know.
The goal is not simply to add AI to UCSN.
The goal is to make the enormous amount of information, writing, worldbuilding and community history created here easier to access and easier to navigate.
