NEW VALDORIA — An unprecedented humanitarian crisis is unfolding across New Valdoria (@New Valdoria) , where an estimated 800,000 migrants of unknown origin, presumed to be from self-governed communities, have gathered along territory recently identified as being under Valdorian influence by the United States of Thessara. The number continues to rise, with local authorities reporting that additional groups are arriving at several points along the newly designated frontier.

What began as scattered groups arriving at remote settlements has developed into a mass movement of people stretching across roads, towns and surrounding countryside. Local authorities have struggled to provide adequate food, water, shelter and medical assistance, while existing infrastructure has been placed under enormous strain. Several communities have begun converting public buildings and other facilities into temporary shelters as the influx continues.

The situation has also created growing security concerns. Local militias and civilian authorities have been deployed to maintain order, but reports of fights, property damage and confrontations between migrants and local residents are increasing. Several streets in affected communities have reportedly become heavily congested, while residents have complained of overcrowding, constant noise and shortages of basic supplies.

Authorities have yet to determine where the migrants came from. Many appear to have travelled considerable distances while carrying little more than personal belongings. Witnesses have also reported that large groups appear to have followed similar routes toward Valdorian settlements, despite apparently originating from different regions.

Perhaps more unusual is the belief shared by many of those arriving. According to local officials and eyewitnesses, numerous migrants claim they were told that Valdoria would provide them with safety and protection.

That belief appears to have intensified following Thessara’s recent publication of its Notice of Recognition, which identified large areas of the world as falling under Valdorian influence. The map, however, does not establish legally recognized Valdorian borders. Thessara’s own declaration explicitly distinguishes recognition of influence from sovereignty, occupation or physical control.

For the people arriving at the frontier, that distinction appears to have been lost. They have followed the boundaries shown on the map as though they were established international borders, bringing hundreds of thousands of people directly into communities that were never prepared to receive them.

The result has placed New Valdorian authorities in an increasingly difficult position. Turning the migrants away could leave hundreds of thousands of people without shelter or protection, while allowing them to remain risks overwhelming local communities and exhausting available food, medical and security resources. Neither option appears capable of resolving the crisis quickly.

The most troubling question remains unanswered: who told them to come?

There is currently no evidence that the Valdorian government organized the movement, nor has any organization publicly claimed responsibility for directing the migrants toward the newly recognized territory. Nevertheless, the scale and apparent coordination of the movement has led some local officials to question whether the crisis is entirely spontaneous.

For now, Valdoria is attempting to manage an unprecedented humanitarian emergency along borders that, legally speaking, do not even exist.

Regarding the Unprecedented Migration Situation Following the Publication of the Thessara Global Influence Map

The Federal Government of New Valdoria acknowledges the serious humanitarian situation developing following the publication of the United States of Thessara’s Global Influence Map and the subsequent movement of hundreds of thousands of people toward territories identified as being under Valdorian influence.

First and foremost, the Federal Government wishes to make clear that New Valdoria was not aware of the continued existence or operation of certain self-governed communities following the dissolution of several former border states. The presence of these communities, their continued administration, and the movement of their populations were not communicated to the Valdorian authorities prior to the recent developments.

The Federal Republic did not organize, encourage, or authorize this movement of people.

The government recognizes the humanitarian concerns involved and understands that many individuals arriving at Valdorian settlements may have acted based on their own interpretation of recent international developments. However, the Federal Government emphasizes that the Thessara Global Influence Map does not constitute a legally binding alteration of sovereign borders, territorial jurisdiction, or international recognition.

The Federal Republic continues to recognize the current internationally accepted territorial arrangement established through the recognized map of the United Commonwealth. New Valdoria respects existing diplomatic frameworks, international agreements, and recognized boundaries.

At the same time, the Federal Government acknowledges that the publication of the Thessara map has created confusion among affected communities. The distinction between political influence, cultural connection, diplomatic recognition, and sovereign territory must be clearly maintained under international law.

The Federal Republic is therefore taking immediate temporary measures.

A temporary administrative humanitarian zone may be established to provide:

The situation along the New Valdorian frontier has entered a new and increasingly dangerous phase.

The number of migrants gathered inside and around Valdorian territory has now surpassed one million people.

What began as an unprecedented humanitarian emergency has evolved into a nationwide security crisis as federal authorities struggle to maintain control over a population that continues to grow faster than the government can process, shelter, feed, or relocate it. The temporary humanitarian zones are overflowing.

Food distribution has become increasingly difficult, with supply convoys frequently delayed by overcrowded roads and spontaneous gatherings. Medical facilities established to deal with the initial influx are reporting shortages of personnel, medicine, and available beds. In several settlements, local authorities have begun rationing essential supplies as federal agencies struggle to keep pace with demand.

And the violence is spreading with the first Valdorian losses as the immigrants have become increasingly impatient.

Clashes between migrants and local residents have erupted in multiple communities, with confrontations no longer confined to overcrowded shelters or distribution centers. Shops have been looted, government buildings damaged, and several roads occupied by large groups demanding either additional assistance or an end to further arrivals. The picture is increasingly turning into a developing warzone as many immigrants carry their own weapons and have often pointed them at the locals.

Local resistance groups have expanded considerably.

What were previously small neighborhood organizations blocking roads and protesting outside shelters have begun coordinating across municipal boundaries. Some have established checkpoints of their own, refusing access to migrants and, in several cases, challenging federal security personnel attempting to reopen transportation routes.

Yet the investigation into the origins of the migration has produced one potentially significant development.

Authorities have recovered additional maps, printed instructions, and other materials among several migrant groups. Despite originating from different communities, some of these materials contain strikingly similar directions toward Valdorian territory.

The Federal Government has not yet identified who produced them. But officials are now openly investigating the possibility that the movement was deliberately coordinated.

The discovery has transformed what was previously regarded as a humanitarian investigation into a potential national security investigation. Meanwhile, the political pressure on the Federal Government is reaching unprecedented levels with the opposition demanding the government’s resignation.

Additionally opposition legislators are demanding emergency parliamentary sessions. Local governments are accusing the federal administration of abandoning them. Citizens are demanding stronger security measures, while humanitarian organizations warn that any attempt to forcibly disperse the population could produce an even greater catastrophe.

The government is caught between two impossible demands.

Protect the people arriving at the frontier.

Protect the people already living there.

It is becoming increasingly clear that New Valdoria cannot continue managing the crisis indefinitely through temporary measures. More than one million people are now inside the emergency system. The frontier is overcrowded. The cities are becoming unstable. Federal forces are stretched thin. And every day, more people arrive.

For the first time, senior officials within the Federal Government have begun privately discussing the possibility that the original emergency may have already passed the point of containment with many urging the government to seek international support in policing the nation’s borders.

The question is no longer whether New Valdoria can restore the frontier to what it was before. It is whether the Federal Republic can prevent the crisis from spreading beyond the frontier altogether.

One million people have arrived. The government is losing control. And someone is still sending them.
