THE GUANGZHOU PARADOX

Thessara

An incident nobody asked for. A suspicion nobody can prove.

The news from Thessara reaches New Guangzhou Prime quickly. The Thessaran Treasury and Pentagon have been targeted by coordinated cyberattack attempts. The attacks failed, but investigators claim the intrusions specifically probed systems connected to Eurodollar financial infrastructure.

No evidence has publicly linked Guangzhou to the incident. That has not stopped people from making the connection. The attacks come shortly after Guangzhou’s renewed rejection of the Eurodollar, placing the Divine State under quiet scrutiny from Commonwealth governments and intelligence agencies. The Eurodollar, despite bad press, did not deep in global markets and national economies remained stable.

Then comes the stranger detail.

During the attacks, Thessaran security personnel reportedly detected unusual bursts of structured signals unlike conventional cyberattack traffic. Thessara has not explained what they were. Nor has it confirmed whether they resemble the unexplained signals being reported elsewhere in the world.

For Guangzhou, several questions now hang in the air:

Was the attack actually connected to the Eurodollar?
Was Guangzhou being targeted, or deliberately being framed?
Who conducted the attack, and what were they looking for?
And could the strange signals be connected to the wider events occurring across the world?

The Corporate Alliance has no answers yet. But it now has every reason to start looking.

Thessaran security is not within our jurisdiction, for we were just the ones to set up cellular communication, not your security systems, but InCom offers to scour our vast data centers to find the culprit of such a breach, and any files you’re willing to give us access to. world security is all we wish for, and such a thing happening to a world power such as Thessara is unbelievable, and could have terrible consequences if another such thing should occur.”

Thessara acknowledges Guangzhou’s condemnation and willingness to cooperate regarding the recent cyberattacks.

However, the response does little to fully ease concerns surrounding the incident.

As a precaution, Thessara has increased its military and intelligence presence in the wider region, including additional naval patrols and surveillance operations around key maritime approaches.

No formal accusation has been made against Guangzhou, and the deployments are not being described as hostile action.

For now, Thessara is simply watching the region more closely.
