Thessara I find allowing indiscriminate expansion to be a dangerous precedent. I understand that the United Commonwealth isn’t the most bustling forum or region on the internet. However, having too many expansive nations could be intimidating to newcomers and make them feel they would need a claim of equal size in order to compete. Furthermore, allowing dominant control over pivotal parts of the world greatly advantages those that have been around longer. Sea access is a priority, as seen on the current rendition of the map. Increasing the amount of resources a nation has access to by simply expanding is a slippery slope because there would be no incentive to work with what is currently available when nothing is stopping them.

Application approved.

The Free States of Ivroyia

Thank you for your feedback. We appear to share the same opinion.

Dechikely

I’d love to expand up the eastern Mediterranean coastline, into Türkiye, have the south coast of the Black sea, across to the Caspian, and back down to the Persian Gulf since we’re on the topic.

Thessara

Dechikely

Technically speaking, expansions require resources and seeing that your economy is smaller than the rest of the Union it wouldn’t justify such a large grab of land. Additional participation to warrant the expansion would be needed. Additionally I avoid giving full control over a specific area without creating ‘points of contention’

Dagestan

Welp, since we can theoretically expand.

I would like to expand to the teritories of modern day Iran. This would allow us to have an intercontinental connection betwen Europe and Asia, which means that many countries benefit from this expantion. This can allow for great investments opportunities and projects spanning multiple nations.

When this application will be accepted, we will send our troops to conquer the new lands.

The Holy Empire of Deidadios

Thessara I don’t find this to be the most reasonable explanation. I lost my claim on the map for not being active enough when I was the 20th wealthiest country, yet countries like Valhalrley and Dasolculta have claims twice the size of Dechikely, don’t participate, have no wealth, and survived the map purge. Where are the goalposts here?

Dechikely

It sounds like I’m getting snubbed because I didn’t ask for a big enough claim initially. I can only expand north if I want a land-connected country and it is being directed infringed upon. I am not going to sit idly and become confined to a peninsula. Dechikely will not stand for socialism below the 37th North Parallel

Nordstjerne

Is this going to be another “fifty-four forty of fight” situation? Because if so, I’d like to nab Denmark.

Javnia

We need a strong RP person to move into Australia!

Zvlokiquix

Javnia Rilicon did mention they were to be taking some time off. I don’t know of an exact timeline for them. Hopefully they can come back stronger than ever

Dagestan

I like the lore justification regarding the intercontinental trade hub, but expanding over the entirety of modern-day Iran in a few couple of posts is just way too far-fetched for the current scale of the map, similar to your sudden expansion to the moon and back. (That event by the way is not accepted, we are treating it as State Propaganda to settle some internal issue in Dagestan). Furthermore, it skips too many steps and unbalances the region completely from other aspiring players that might want to be located there. If you want to head that direction, please scale the request way down to a realistic border expansion or province, submit a highlighted map image, and we can go from there.

The Holy Empire of Deidadios
I hear you, and I completely get why it looks frustrating from your end. The “map purge” was automated based strictly on a hard cut-off for log-in dates and minimum post counts. It really didn’t take economy sizes or regional wealth into account, which is why those inactive giants slipped through. That said, you’re an active, high-value player and I don’t want you snubbed. Hit me up in the DMs right now and let’s work together to fix your claim and get you sorted out.

Dechikely
Now this is the kind of geopolitical drama I love to see. It sounds real, it sounds developing. Setting a hard line at the 37th North Parallel is fantastic roleplay. Let’s see how @Dagestan responds to the ultimatum. If this escalates to troops moving, just make sure you guys open an official conflict thread so we can track it properly.

@[unknown group] Additionally, let’s please treat the Map Application thread, as an application thread. If there’s anything you need assistance, kindly create under General a discussion thread and ping me, or even better, send me an Email.

One quick question, if i got support of another nation for such expansion, would it be possible?

Oswast

Nation Name: Oswast
Leader / Representative: george
Government Type: The Democratic Republic
Requested Area / or Drawing: The territory of Western Australia
Brief Description of Nation: Oswast - a nation focused on disarmament, anti-militarism, technological progress, and the development of the environmental factor worldwide

GrimmWurm

Leader / Representative: Vermiarch Vlad

Government Type: Theocratic Dictatorship.

Requested Area / or Drawing: South Africa, Namibia, Bostwana, Lesotho, Eswatini, Madagascar, Zimbabwe, and lastly Mozambique. I know it sounds like a lot but based off the map I’d be not huge, and with resources scarcity i feel it be fair.

Brief Description of Nation: The Holy GrimmWurm Empire is a vast Catholic theocratic empire built on the ideals of faith, order, and duty. Ruled by the Vermiarch, the Empire unites religious authority and state power under a centralized government that values stability, discipline, and national unity above individual liberty.

Its motto—“Durch Ordnung bestehen wir” (“Through order, we endure”)—shapes every aspect of society. Citizens live under strict laws, universal military service, and strong civic expectations while participating in a state-directed market economy supported by both private enterprise and government leadership.

Recognized by the Holy Scepter, represented by the Gray Wolf, and sustained by the Heiligmark, GrimmWurm presents itself as a nation where enduring strength comes from shared faith, collective responsibility, and unwavering social order.

United State of Port

Nation Name: United State of Port
Leader / Representative: Micheal Spart
Government Type: Oligarchic Dictatorship
Requested Area / or Drawing: Turkey, Greece, and Cyprus.
Brief Description of Nation:

Climate - Hot, dry, and tropical in some areas.

The State - The USP is a patriotic nation with its people believing its the strongest of all.

Thessara

Dagestan
Negative. I’d like to see that happen in roleplay, and I’d like to see you all handle that politically. I am okay with land swaps for as long as the political justification has been created.

Oswast
Land offered.

GrimmWurm
Claim partially offered.

United State of Port

Claim partially offered.

Partial claims are offered as opportunities for RTE’s (Random Time Encounter)

Could I cut my claim down to only south turkey? I had a photo prepared but I couldnt upload it

Zvlokiquix

Zvlokiquix is now depicted as a dark green instead of a lime green? I guess I’ll have that intern change our JSDI map again.
