Our story begins in year 2031 on the russo-ukrainian frontline. Or rather the lack of it. But not by a peace treaty, rather by a burnout of both powers.Ukraine lost most of its support as right wing parties take power across europe. But Russia is in a simmilar if not worse situation. After years of war and sanctions, first revolutions and independence movements arise. One of these was no other than Dagestan.
This is where our story trully begins. The republic of Dagestan has liberated itself from russia on 20.01.2031, alongside other republics in the region. After 4 years of war with Russia, they eventually gave up on us and granted all 21 republics independance. One of these was Dagestan. At first, times looked average. On one hand, trade with the new republics and foreign powers brought the economic prosperity to our country, something that Moscow has failed at for almost ten years. On the other hand, diffrent republics have entered confilcts with one another. The main war Dagestan was involved in was the Kalmykian-Dgestani war, which we have won thanks to our allied republics.
Life was overall great, at least better than under Russian rule. at least for some time. Just like everything else, it all changed in year 2047 aka.The year the great reset happened. Suddenly, everyone with nukes attacked everyone else and Dagestan could only watch in fear. Our country was one of the most affected by the nuclear winters, as we were betwen the two biggest fallout tides from both attacks on Russia, China and the Indo-Pakistani war.
This meant that the remains of this young republic had to move underground. In there, people have realised that communal ownership helped them not murder eachother, so the socialist ideology started spreading from bunker to bunker. After 20 years of sitting in the concrete underground cages (which fun fact were built simmilarly to communist blocs but that a story for another time), the first Dagestani pioneers set foot on the now barren wasteland they once called home. And they decided that they will still call it that way.
