Nordstjerne’s response to the invitation was simply a matter of international cooperation, which serves as the basis of the Jacarian Realm’s diplomatic ventures. Not only would it have been extremely rude to decline, it would have also hindered any future relationship we might have with the Valdorian government.

The idea that that Nordstjerne would ever partake in conspiracy goes against everything we and the Jacarian Realm stands for. We aim for an open government with policy that reflects our people’s will, and to accuse us of conspiring is a blow to our reputation we simply cannot ignore. While our dear Lord High Williamsburg has yet to comment, I can assure you that he would take a similar stance.

Your stance has placed strain on our relationship, Thessara. We shall stand by New Valdoria so long as their government protects the interests of its people, no matter what political ideology they now follow.

From the combined desks of the Jacarian Houses of Legislation,

The statements made against a section of our Realm, that being the Colony of Nordstjerne, are unacceptable. While the attendance of Hugo Johansson in the Victory of the People Celebration Day is in an attempt to recognize a new power, he has the full support of the Jacarian government in doing so. The people have a fundamental right to overthrow their government should they see it unfit for their needs, as the people of New Valdoria have done. By accusing a major branch of our government of supporting “a non-democratic coup”, as Thessara has put it, you not only tarnish the Jacarian Realm’s history of trust and democracy, you also delegitimize the people’s say in government. In the case of New Valdoria, it seems that the workers rebelled against a government that no longer served them, and instead implement a system that would favor the many instead of the few. This is not “non-democratic”. In fact, it is quite the opposite. Thessara also states that these actions signal “a troubling geopolitical realignment aimed at expanding an autocratic, centralized bloc dedicated to subverting constitutional governance”. Again, this is simply not true. New Valdoria has a constitution, therefore rendering half of this argument invalid. Also, the support that its new government has received is from some of the most free and democratic nations in the world, rendering the rest of the argument invalid.

These Democratic Nations of United Jacaria will continue to support Nordstjerne, and offer assistance to New Valdoria while they establish their new government. We find Thessara’s response, specifically its review of a democratically-elected senator, to be astounding. This is not one person speaking, either. This is the combined opinion of all four Houses of Legislation for the Jacarian Parliament, and the opinion of Jacaria’s people, as seen in recent polls.
