A New Banner for a United People
Citizens, Vexillologists, and Visionaries,
Following the recent enlargement of our Commonwealth territory, the City Hall would like to officially declare that our nations require a singular, unifying banner. While our individual states carry their own histories and colors, we now look forward to a future where we stand as one.
We are calling upon the creative minds of the Commonwealth to design the official flag that will fly over our capital, our embassies abroad, and the homes of every citizen.
Design Brief & Symbolism
While we encourage creative freedom, the Council suggests that designs reflect the core pillars of the United Commonwealth:
Unity: The gathering of diverse states into one body.
Prosperity: Our commitment to a sustainable and thriving future.
Sovereignty: Our shared independence and strength.
Commonality: The “Wealth” we share ; not just in resources, but in spirit and law.
The Competition Rules
To ensure the winning design is both beautiful and functional, all entries must adhere to the Four Principles of Commonwealth Vexillography:
Keep it Simple: The design should be simple enough that a child could draw it from memory.
Meaningful Symbolism: Every color and shape should tell a story of who we are.
Limited Palette: Use only 2–3 bold, contrasting colors. Avoid gradients, drop shadows, or complex textures.
No Text or Seals: Flags are symbols, not name tags. Do not include the words “United Commonwealth” or any intricate government seals on the flag. However the use of letters such as “U.C” is allowed.
